Game Projects
This is to showcase game projects that I created to showcase my work from university and others that I have worked on as part of game jams, presenting my skills for programming and design.
A majority of these projects have been created within Unreal Engine.

Neon Howl
Neon Howl is a third-person movement shooter, giving the player the ability to wall-run and jump off walls to create more satisfying action sequences. Taking inspiration from Titanfall 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.
Created using:
Autodesk Maya for 3D assets
Substance Painter for Textures
Unreal Engine for Programming
ZBrush for Sculpting
Adobe Photoshop for Texture Atlas/Trim Sheet

BioTect
My second year game project made inside Unreal Engine 5, BioTect is a first-person "detective" game where the player takes control of a biogenetically enhanced PI that has a range of abilities to search for clues and solve a murder case.
With this project I was able to experiment with data tables and implement an interactive inventory system that would store key items and clues that would be a way of communicating to the player. This was also supported with the integration of an inspection mechanic.
Environment and 3D assets were made with Maya & 3Ds Max.
2D art was made by Kade Griffin

Alien Defender
Alien Defender is a unique take on the classic arcade game Space invaders that allows the player to control the alien spaceships to fight and defend against the human mothership, the idea is that each alien counts as each life the player has and once all aliens have been destroyed it's Game Over.
The game was created within Unity to create a simple 2D arcade game project and each sprite asset was created using Piskel.

Wrong Aisle
Wrong Aisle is a third-person horror cart game where you control an unstable shopping cart through a store, this was made as part of a locally hosted game jam within the Confetti campus December 2022.
I was behind the programming for this project and had support from a team of creative peers that did a fantastic job, with many of them focusing on the asset, character and level creation. This project had also helped introduce me and the team to the method of source control with using Github.

Seeking Peace
As part of a collaborative Game Jam with Confetti and Jamk University of Applied Sciences, Finland. Seeking Peace is a third person puzzle game that follows the story of a spirit that is coming to terms with death.
Around the level, there are small objects that can be found linking back to the identity of the figments of people left behind, light puzzle elements that allow for the player to solve what item one of the souls are asking for. Smaller details are hidden within the pictograms when speaking to the characters.
Jared Blackman - Programmer, Level Designer
Ross Tinley-Thorpe - Asset Creation, Level Designer
Kade Griffin - 2D Artist, Texture Artist
Valtteri Louhelainen - Narrative Designer, Writer
Simon Dániel János - Audio Designer
